On the 11th of December 2019, Delta Air Lines invited YourAviation LLC for a presentation of their newest cabin product. The new cabin is flying with the Boeing 767-400 of the airline. The global, US based carrier, has three planes departing every minute somewhere in the world. The refurbished cabin is due to offer a better product on the older 767.

Delta is investing in their cabins! After receiving their first Airbus A350XWB two years ago and flying their Airbus A330-200 on the JFK-ZRH-JFK line for also almost two years, the airline is changing the aircraft type on the route. Officially from Monday 16th of December 2019, Delta will operate the B764 aircraft with a new, three-class cabin on the route. Passengers will be able to book Delta Economy, Delta Premium Select or Delta One (Business) on the route.

The new cabin is offering an improved passenger experience. Passengers can enjoy a better entertainment programme, improved catering service and further services for passengers. The configuration of the aircraft shall be the following:

Delta One, Business Class, 1-2-1

Delta Premium Select, Economy Plus, 2-2-2

Delta Main Cabin, Economy Cabin, 3-2-3

The new Delta One Business Class Cabin is offering more privacy to the customer. Passengers can enjoy more stowage room, an 18-inch big screen and a self-service mid-flight snack bar in the front of the aircraft. The brand new Delta Premium Select Premium Economy Class is offering 20 premium seats. Customers can enjoy their meal served on real plates. Quite nice if you ask me! The seat can be reclined back up to 18cm. 13,3-inch screens are provided to passengers in that class of service. In the Main Economy Class Cabin, the modified service concept is including a welcome drink, hot-towel services & a revised service concept. I honestly can’t wait to try this out.

Delta One

Now maybe you are asking yourself why Delta is investing so much on an 20-years old plane. Well I asked myself the same. The regional sales manager, Mr. Thomas Brandt, explained us that the maintenance is very important. The planes are being well maintained and therefore very fit to fly. With the new entertainment product, powered also by wireless technologies, the plane is around 0.5kg lighter. Delta is saving up to 1300kg of Co2 with that method. Besides that, an A350XWB or A330-900 would currently be too big for Zurich.

I think Delta is bringing an entirely new product on the market and it has a lot of potential. Seats are comfortable, the cabin is modern and looks new, it seems to be a great passenger experience and I can’t wait to try it. You can find more pictures of the cabin right here:
