After wondering what aircraft Lufthansa Cityline will get, we now know the answer. As Lufthansa confirmed they will transfer some Airbus A319-100 to their Cityline to replace the Embraers (9 E190-E1 & 5 E195-E2) going to Air Dolomiti and probably also the slowly ageing Bombardier CRJs.

Air Dolomiti is an airline of the Lufthansa group, operating currently 12 E195. They operate flights from their hub at Munich Intl. Airport primarily around the alps and (northern-)Italy.

It is planned that the first aircraft will operate for Cityline by the first half of 2019. 5 other ones are to follow until the end of 2020. Further plans are not confirmed yet.

The rumor that Lufthansa (Cityline) would order and operate Airbus A220 (former Bombardier C-Series) was refuted as the administrative board of Lufthansa cancelled the conversations after they stated that they would have too high costs compared to this A319 solution.

The future of the A340-300 fleet, which is also belonging to the Cityline, is not yet known!
